Shakeology!


Shakeology!!!

So I am sure a lot of you have heard about Shakeology. You are probably wondering what in the world is this Shakeology?? Is it just another protein drink? What’s different about it? It’s too expensive! I will admit when I first heard of Shakeology, I was super skeptical and had all those questions.  Infact, when I heard the word protein drink, I wouldn’t have anything to do with it. I had tried protein drinks in the past and thought they were disgusting. I also was terrified that if I drank protein drinks, I would get bulky and manly. Haha, yes, that’s how afraid I was of it! But I kept hearing such amazing things about Shakeology, and how tasty they are, and how incredibly healthy!! I was having a hard time controlling my portions at lunch time, I wanted something simple, tasty, and easy to make for lunch, without eating too much. So I thought, why not try this Shakeology out?? I actually became a coach and ordered my Challenge pack which included my fitness program, and 30 days of Shakeology, without even having tried shakeolgoy yet! Crazy, I know!!! I was crossing my fingers that I would like it as much as I hoped to!!

Well, let me tell you, Shakeology went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations! I can’t even get over how much I love Shakeolgoy! It tastes soooooooooooo good! I honestly am hooked. If I go a day without, I miss it!! I love how versatile Shakeolgoy is too. I never get sick of it because there’s so many different flavors to try, and so many different recipes!! MY favorite I will say is chocolate. I love chocolate, with unsweetened almond milk, and half a banana. Soooooooooooo goooooooooooood!

Aside from how tasty it is….the health benefits are OUT OF this world!!!!!! Shakeology has helped me:

Curb my sweet tooth!

Lose weight

 Improve digestion

Combined with Shakeology, and 21dfx workouts, I have lost 9 pounds!! And my journey is still going. And not only is it helping me lose weight, but I FEEL so much better! I feel healthier and more energetic!!

Chicken Fajita's


I made Chicken Fajita’s tonight for supper. One of my most favorite meals! I love ANYTHING tacos! Seriously obsessed. Fish tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, fajitas, taco salad, the list is endless! I tried for the first time today:  fajita’s with lettuce instead of the shell! I was pleasantly surprised that I honestly didn’t miss the shell at all! I thought I would, but I really noticed that I really enjoyed the flavor of the fajita’s more. Soooooooooo yum! Here’s the recipe! Super simple to make!

Chicken Fajita’s


Ingredients:

4 chicken breasts, sliced into strips

1 green pepper, sliced thinly

1 red pepper, sliced thinly

1 onion, sliced thinly

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp chili powder

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

Crisp romaine lettuce

Plain Greek yogurt

Salsa

Guacamole (if you are so inclined! I forgot to buy avocados when I was grocery shopping so unfortunately had to go without)

Directions:

  1. Slice the peppers, onion, and chicken.  Mix the spices, lime juice and olive oil.  In a large container or Ziploc bag, place the peppers, onion, and chicken.  Poor the spice mixture over top and shake until everything is fully coated.  You can let it marinade in the fridge for a few hours. 
  2. Heat olive oil on high heat. Add the chicken.  Cook until almost fully cooked, and then add the peppers and onion.  Cook until the onion and pepper are soft.
  3. Top your lettuce with the fajita mixture, add salsa, cheese, greek yogurt, guacamole, or any other toping you desire! ENJOY!

My Transformation Story!

MY STORY!!!
Where to even begin!  My health and fitness journey really began when I was 18.  I have always loved being active, but never understood why I was heavier because I thought if you are physically active, that you can eat whatever you want. I remember, I was 18, and me and my family drove to Vancouver for my cousin Dean’s wedding. I was so grouchy and moody the whole weekend. My poor family. But I was just so depressed and down about my weight. I felt like a whale, and everytime I saw photos, I cringed.  I remember that weekend, I said to myself, that enough is enough, and I am going to make changes! So I started running.  I got super into it, and noticed a difference almost immediately! Along with the running, I then started looking at the calorie content of what I was eating. I remember being absolutely shocked and grossed out by how many calories are in foods that I ate on a regular basis. Like icecream. I used to eat icecream almost every day of the week!!!   I lost 10 pounds fast, and then over the next few years, I lost 10 more. By that time, I was addicted to running, and could barely go a day without it.  At that point, I was at a decent weight, but I felt that I had really plateud.  No matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to lose any more weight, and my stomach never could tone like I really want! I was starting to have to run twice a day, just to maintain my weight. And that was getting just too hard to do! I remember hearing about girls lifting weights, and I was so scared of it because I didn’t want to get bulky, and look masculine.  So I always avoided weights. 
Fast forward to September of this year.  I kept seeing Morgan Riegers (my now coach) facebook ad.  I started stalking her page, and I was soooooo intrigued. I was so blown away by how amazing she looks and how happy she is. I also was extremely jealous of how successful she is with her Beachbody business. I thought to myself, I WANT THAT SO BAD!!!!!!! I want to have a successful fitness and health business from home, and I want to stop my fitness plateau, and finally tone!! I started clean eating, following the 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts, and since September, I’ve lost 9 pounds! And my stomach is starting to get defined!! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd not to mention, I joined Morgan’s team and became a Beachbody coach! My fitness journey is still ongoing, and I am committed fully to making clean eating, and exercising my LIFE STLYE!!
I couldn’t believe the difference in the 21dfx workouts! The workouts are all about doing FULL body workouts, but with weights, and cardio combined and working EVERY area of your body! Each day targets a different area. It’s seriously amazing! And can I say that I don’t run near as much! Maybe a few times a week. And I do that just because I LOVE It. I haven’t bulked up from adding weights to my workouts. I am toning and getting definition. I never thought weights could do that. Needless to say, I am happy! And excited to see more results!
It’s not just the physical results that have impacted me so much though. Becoming a Beachbody coach has been remarkable. The training, resources, encouragement, and team of ladies I am surrounded by is mind blowing. Every day I am inspired to grow and push myself. I have been learning SO much! The main thing I have been learning thus far is to not just have goals, but to make them HAPPEN! I have so many goals and dreams, but never would put them into action. Beachbody has been teaching me how to make a game plan of how to make your DREAMS and GOALS a REALITY!!!!
 I could seriously gush and go on and on about Beachbody, but I will stop, FOR NOW! Hehe. Hello! Today I am sharing the most amazing soup ever! I have been sooo spoiled by the pro-longed winter here, but it finally is starting to get cold out. Hence, the craving of SOUP! I could seriously live of off of soup. And what I love so much about soup, is you can load in so many vegetables!! Today’s recipe is Creamy Potato Soup, and it’s 21 Day Fix Approved!!  And did I mention that it’s super easy to make?!

It is sooooooooo creamy, and soooooooooooooo delicious! Top with some cheddar cheese, and you are golden!

Creamy Potato Soup

21 Day fix Portions per serving: 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 blue

Ingredients:

4 stalks of celery, chopped

4 medium carrots, chopped

1 small onion, chopped

5 medium potatoes, chopped

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp onion powder

 3 cups vegetable broth (I used 3 cups of water and added vegetable boullion)

3 cups skim milk

3 tablespoons flour

Shredded cheddar cheese (for on top)

Directions:

  1. Heat  a tablespoon of coconut oil to a big pot and add the onions.  Once the onions are fried, add celery, carrots, potatoes, and spices.  Add the vegetable broth.  Bring to a boil.  Meanwhile whisk the flour into the milk, and add to the soup.  Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer.  Simmer for a few hours, until vegetables are tender.
